Dane’s introduction to swimming began at a young age when he was taught how to swim in a pool on an island in the Nile River. Dane and his family lived overseas when he grew up primarily in the Middle East. They lived in Egypt for six years and in Turkey for seven years. They visited throughout the region and spent time in Cyprus, Israel, and Greece. During his sophomore year in high school, Dane and his family moved back stateside to the Midwest. They ultimately settled in Georgia.

Dane attended Purdue University for two years and studied aeronautical engineering. Ultimately, Dane changed his major to computer science and transferred to LaGrange College in Georgia to be closer to family. After graduating, Dane worked for the University of Washington in Seattle as an office assistant to the Dean’s Office for the School of Medicine.

A few years later, Dane migrated to the Los Angeles area and began working for Rowley International, a renowned aquatic design and engineering firm. Dane began as a temporary worker and was hired full time shortly after. Over time, Dane progressed through the ranks and became increasingly involved in the forensic engineering and expert witness side of the firm, which was later separated into Rowley Forensic Engineering. The legacy of Rowley Forensic Engineering became Rowley & Reynolds Forensic Engineering. Dane currently is a Senior Project Manager for Rowley & Reynolds Forensic Engineering.

Dane enjoys spending time with his family and being an uncle to his nieces and nephews. Dane’s hobbies include being a movie buff, reading, and exploring new restaurants and cuisines.
